Retiring colours

June 6th, 2010

Good morning all!

Recently Stampin’ Up! announced the upcoming colour renovation and just yesterday on our demonstrator website there was the following up date……

“With our recent Colour Renovation announcement, we have experienced an increase in demand for some of our retiring colours. We need to clarify that beginning now, all retiring colour products are available only while supplies last. As we run out of retiring items, you may notice that they are no longer available in OEX. This does not refer to items that go on backorder; these orders will be fulfilled. While our Australian and New Zealand markets have not run out of any retiring products, we may before the new catalogue begins on 1 September.”

So what does this mean for you guys?? Well if there are any colours in the below list that you can’t live without I’d suggest you purchase them now and not wait!! I’d hate anyone to miss out!!

Right best fly have a workshop this afternoon and am actually prepping for my technique class on Tuesday night! I’ve still got a few spots left if you’d like to join me!

Another birthday card!

June 1st, 2010

On Saturday it was Jacks little girlfriends birthday and he took great delight in picking a present and a bow to go on top of the gift! So of course I had to make a card to match the purple bow he picked!

soph

The pair have been friends since they were about 9 months old and although they don’t see each other much still enjoy playing together when ever they can! I hope she liked her card and her pressie. I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of the wrapping but it was basically the above flowers stamped all over it. Jacks got to help which he loved!!

Right I’m off again as it’s my babies birthday tomorrow and I have a cake to ice and pressies to wrap!

Have a great night all!

Red Nose Day Fundraiser!

May 31st, 2010

2 post in one day who’d have thunk it??

I’m just popping in to let you know we (Bec, Lou, Linda and myself) are planning another of our super duper stampin days! This time it’s a little different as we are doing it on a Friday evening and all proceeds are going to this very worthwhile cause! SIDS and Kids is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and to supporting bereaved families.

If you’d like more details click here to see the flyer or if you can’t make it and would just like to make a donation click here! We are aiming to raise $1000.

Also while I’m here I thought I’d direct you to Lou’s website as she has popped up heaps of photo’s from convention and has even done a recap! I think she’s saved me a job! Thanks Lou. Go and check it out and also have a look around at all her fabulous work!!

I’m off to bed now ready for another big day at work!

sig

Can you believe I am actually back like I promised! It’s a miracle isn’t it!! As I mentioned I had a huge weekend of birthday parties and as I you know I like to make cards and wrapping paper to match well on Saturday night I helped celebrate a grown up friends birthday and thought I would participate in Keesha’s sketch challenge while making the card!!

Here is the sketch, pretty cute hey!

makeesha-sketch-025-1

And here is what I came up with….

nic

I had to use my new stamp set that I bought recently cause of Kirsty Brown she makes the most amazing cards and I’ve been dying to case a couple!! But it hasn’t seen ink yet :-(  I’m really happy with how it turned out! You may notice that it has a blurry bit…..well without thinking I used a new stamp I got at convention and I’m keeping that as a surprise so nah nah! LOL!!

Of course a gift is not complete without a package to put it in…. so I used one of Keesha’s tutorials (adjusted slightly) to make my own champagne bag!

wine2

If you know me you know I am useless at maths so this was a small miracle for me to be able  to change the measurements and make it slightly bigger to fit a bottle of champagne in rather then a bottle of wine!!

What do you think??

wine

Here is a close up of the front base decoration! I popped the wide oval and sentimant on the back  so I could cover the joins on the ribbon!!  The photo’s aren’t flash as I only had moments to take them before walking out the door and as per usual I was late! What who me LOL!!

I’m off to do my newsletter are you still sitting on your chair?? Don’t forget to check out either my Stampin’ Up! website or the Stampin’ Up! website tomorrow morning to find out what the deal of the week are going to be!!

Contact me if you’d like to order anything!! See you soon.

Swaps!

May 30th, 2010

Well here I am. I have finally made it back in here to show you my swaps I made from convention!! This weekend has been full on! We have had 3 birthday parties 1 being my darling son Jackson’s!! I can’t believe he is turning 5 on Wednesday! So before I slip off to bed in preparation for another busy week I thought I’d pop in and show you the cards!!

swap2

Here is the final product from that pile of cardstock that I showed you previously!! Then here is the other one I did. Some of you may have seen this before if you attended our mini catalogue launch.

swap

As you can see lots of cutting out and edging on both cards! They are both completely different cards but I am really happy with how they turned out!!

Right that’s me for now! Check back tomorrow I’ve got another card to show you I managed to play along with one of Keesha’s challenges and hopefully this week I’ll get a few photo’s from convention up!!

Have a great week all!

A new baby!

May 24th, 2010

As usual I had a hundred and one things to do before I went away to convention and the Wednesday night before I left was no exception! Jessie’s teacher is having a baby and her last day was the Friday of convention. A lot of parent had put money in for a pressie for her and I was asked to make a card. Of course me being me I left it till the last moment to do it! This photo was taken just as I completed it at about 12.10 on the Wednesday night.

melissa

I was quiet happy with how it turned out. I know this set has retired but I really don’t have that many baby sets anymore! Isn’t it cute! Although I think it needed something near the popped up duck! What do you reckon? I hope she is putting her feet up and having a well deserved break before the bub’s arrival I can assure you she so deserves it she was an awesome teacher and will be missed!!

You can see a hint of colour on my work area and that was from me working on my swaps! Do you think I would have had them finished. If you answered no you’d be right. This is what they looked like before I left for Sydney!

swaps

I was lucky enough to have some helpers assemble these in my room when I arrived at convention. And I’m going to do a little name dropping here! My partners in crime as always included Bec, Louise, Linda and Trish but this time I also had Teneale, Marelle, Joanna and Jayne! Who could ask for a better group of people to finish of my swaps and share a class of champagne with! Thanks Marelle for the Champers and thanks to all those that helped me get the mammoth task done!! Anywho I  have a couple of both swaps left and have promised to send some out.  I will also take a photo and post my swaps here soon!

Please bear with me though as I am working 1 job 3 days a week until the end of this term and am still trying to fit in the others I do too!  Gotta love being busy!!

What was I thinking???

May 23rd, 2010

Do you know I actually considered not going to convention this year?? A lovely little birdie convinced me to go and I am so glad I did! I have just had the most amazing weekend and spent time with some of the most talented, funniest, generous people around!

I won’t bore you with all the details but I will tell you it was awesome and I am sooooooo pleased that I did make the decision to go!

By attending convention we get to hear snippets of news of what is coming up and specials they are planning and woooohooooo have I got a special for you!!

Have you ever considered becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator?

I know I had for a little while before I joined, what I was imagining was being able to be there for my children, contribute to the household budget, get my craft supplies at a discount and having a little extra left over to treat myself occasionally!!

And do you know I got that and more when I joined Stampin’ Up! I have made the most amazing friends, been involved in some wonderful fund raising endeavours, supplemented our family budget and I have been on 2, 5 star all expense paid vacations. Seriously how cool is that!!

Well if you can imagine that and would like to give it a shot Stampin’ Up! is here for you and have they got a special for you???

They are offering the entire starter kit to new recruits from now till the 31st of July for just $259! Seriously that is super value for money! In your kit you will receive $560.00 worth of products! If you would like more information please do not hesitate to call me or click on my demonstrator website for more details!!

I’m off to bed as it has been a huge weekend. Hope you have a great start to the week.

Once again it’s been a while between posts sorry!! I had scheduled my last post due to the fact that we were going camping at Murphy’s Creek Escape. It was a fabulous spot and the kids and adults had a great time!! Click here to view the website and the photos from Anzac Day 2010 are ones taken by the lovely Vicki Dean. Can anyone spot my hubby lol??  Big kid that he is!

If you are looking for a bushing camping spot this one is da bomb! Well that was 2 weeks ago almost and I have worked nearly everyday since so I haven’t had a chance to stamp for a while! Sorry!

beautiful_blogger_award

But in that time I have been awarded not 1 but 3 beautiful blog awards! Thanks to the 3 girls that thought of me Louise Sutton, Leonie Schroder and Claire Harrison. I feel so privileged!

There are so many blogs I visit regularly because they are  full of inspiration but some have already been awarded this award so I thought I would try and lead you to some different blogs and perhaps to some who haven’t received this award or to those that haven’t had time to put it up on their blog like me lol!

Mothers Day Blog Hop

April 23rd, 2010

Good Morning everyone!

I hope you’re ready for the ESAD Blog Hop! Better go grab yourself a cuppa or a coke in my case as you’ll be hopping for a while!

What is ESAD you say?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australian (and New Zealand) Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin’ Up!

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when its needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

You’ve probably read that a few dozen times already if your not starting here so without further ado I’ll show you my projects I have created with one of my favourite big shot dies the Scallop Envelope!

blog-3

When I first got this die I was a little disappointed as it was really small and I thought what am I going to do with it? Well obviously a lot of very clever people had the same thoughts and they came up with a lot of different uses so I’m going to show you a couple I’ve done up for my Mum!

Firstly the one above is a SUPER sized scallop envelope it’s big enough to fit a gift card in!!  Which is perfect for my mum considering she lives in Townsville. It was so easy to do.

Now this is not an original idea by any stretch of the imagination but I have no idea who to credit with it as there are tutorials all over the web. Just google scallop envelope and it’s like striking gold lol! I started with a piece of DSP at 6″ x 6″ and folded it in half. I then place that fold line on the 3rd scallop from the end and ran it through my big shot!! Go over the crease with your bone folder and decorate! Easy Peasy. Doesn’t work as well with cardstock though FYI!!

Here’s a photo of the original size and the super sized one!!

blog

Cool hey? I did say I would show you a few different uses so my next one is a little love note box holder that I thought would be a nice accompaniment to the gift card for Mum!

blog-1

It holds 4 love notes and envelopes and was made out of 2 scallop envelope dies! Again not an original idea but I have no idea who thought it up as I was showed it by a Brisbane demo quiet some time ago and then when I googled it recently there were hundreds of samples but seriously how clever are some people for coming up with ideas such as these!!

blog-2

And here it is again with the cards and all! I have used the polka dot embossing folder on the pale plum card and the Oval’s die  on the Rich Razzleberry card! Are you sensing that I lurve the new incolours by any chance???

I hope you are enjoying hopping along with us and are leaving a comment before you leave to be in the draw for some awesome blog candy! Don’t forget to e-mail Sharlene at stampwithsharlene@hotmail.com and tell her you’ve left a trail of comments lol!

Your next stop is the very talented Debbie Williams and she has got some more super ideas for you to make with the big shot and using my favourite colours to!!

Have a great long weekend everyone and I’ll be back next week with some more goodies to share but for now I best run and get myself packed for camping tomorrow!
