If you have been on the internet lately I’m sure you would have seen an eclipse card or 10! It is such a cool technique and looks so effective! Although I don’t have the large alphabet dies I thought I would use the gorgeous Happy Birthday thinlits! I’d seen a few samples and it looked really cool!
What I didn’t count on was how fiddly it was, putting all the cut out bits back in the holes made it a little time consuming!! But it did end up looking pretty good if I do say so myself!!

I stamped the flowers first then cut out my words, I found this was the easiest way for me! But I did see a few tutorials where they cut first then stamped, so ultimately it’s what you find easiest!

Hi Steph – great Birthday card – I have been “in the groove” so to speak on the eclipse cards – they are so much fun. Since the foam adhesive strips are too wide for the little letters on the Happy Birthday – what did you use to lift up – or did you just manage to cut them narrow enough to use. It looks fabulous .
Hi Roxy, Thanks so much I love the eclipse technique it’s so fun and effective. I have just trimmed the edges of my dimensionals to fit. I actually found it easier to pop the pieces into the gap rather then the back of the cut out piece. Does that make sense?
Love your card Stephanie. What a great idea using the birthday thinlit.
