Huge few days!!

Hey All,

Did you miss me?  We have had a few very hectic days and I’m just now starting to get back into the swing of normal life!!

Jess had a fabulous time in Sydney for Nationals, she blew us all away and placed first in Australia for the junior age group (which is 13 & 14 yr olds). It was a super close race but she managed to cross the line a chest infront of her competitor! She was then put into the All Age relay team and they also came first! So she came away from her first Nationals with 2 gold medals.

She continues to inspire me, she put so much effort into her training that she certainly deserved the win!

Thought I’d pop up a clip of her finish from last week in Sydney!

We also then had another triathlon on Sunday and her school cross country on Monday, today she is going on camp so I should have 5 seconds to myself to get back on top of things!

I promise to return to normal scheduling tomorrow!

Hope you pop back tomorrow to see some stamping!!

Thanks for dropping by

Monday Night’s stamp a stack!

We had heaps of fun on Monday night at our monthly stamp a stack! There were 6 different designs to choose from, as usual some were more popular then others!

This is one of my favourites as I am currently loving the Make a Medallion stamp set! The photo isn’t my usual brilliance (lol) It’s been raining and overcast since Sunday and it’s making if very difficult for me to photograph my cards…which is why the blog posts are few and far between sorry! This card was inspired by Sarah Berry‘s card I just loved the colour combination, although I didn’t read it very well and used Daffodil delight instead of Crushed Curry but it still came up really pretty in real life! I love this stamp set so much, it’s so fun to play with and pretty easy to line up without the need for a stamp a ma jig too!

Have you ordered your Make a Medallion stamp set yet? It’s free with a $90 order only until the end of this month that’s only 10 days to go!!

We are having a final farewell of Sale-a-bration stamp sets on Friday evening at 7.30pm, 6 cards (2 of 3 designs) for $20.00 there is the option for you to make addition sets of cards if you would like as well! After all it is Friday night and if you’d like to craft a bit later you are welcome to stay on!  For more info or to book follow this link.

Would love to see you Friday night, feel free to bring a crafty friend along too!

Thanks for stopping by

Yes I know I haven’t been here for ages! Life is always so busy these days and some things just have to give! A quick run down reno’s are STILL going but I have lights now so classes are resuming yah!! Tiles went down on the weekend so it’s looking awesome!

I start my contract next week so will be working 3 days so classes are a little sparser then normal sorry ladies! I am happy to add in more if the ones I have don’t suit so just give me a shout!

I have been very lucky and been awarded a One Lovely Blog Award by 2 lovely ladies!

Thanks to both Amanda and Lynda I feel really special and I’m so glad that my cards inspire you! There are so many blogs out there that I get inspiration from it feels kinda weird thinking someone gets that inspiration from mine. Does that make sense?

I now know that at least 2 people visit my blog as well lol!!

Now the deal with this award is that you have to pass it on to 7 others that inspire you! That is so difficult as there are soooo very many talented people out there. Amanda has given this award to a lot of friends and team members that I visit regularly so I’m going to give you some others but surfice to say all those on Amanda’s list would also be on mine including Amanda’s! Love your work girls! But here in no particular order are some of the other blogs I visit and get inspiration from!

Kirsty Brown

Madonna Dunn

Nikki Stalker

Makeesha Byl

Marelle Taylor

Teneale Williams

Karen Thomas

Check back later or tomorrow even and I might even have a card or 2 for you! Just have to edit them sorry!

Have a great day the sun has finally peeked it’s head out here so I’m off to enjoy it before we head off to swimming!

School holidays ahhhh!

Yes I am one of those mothers that loves school holidays! Spending time with the kids, catching up with friends and just relaxing in general! This school holidays we have had an awesome time and the kids even went away to gymnastics camp for a few days which was fabulous, and they had such a good time! Last week we saw the builders everyday which was great but this week again they are missing in action! But that did mean I got my first lie in of the holidays!

I have managed to have a wee little play and this is what I came up with!

This is not my usual style at all but Ihad heaps of fun making it! I got to use all sorts of fun new stuff making this one! I used the new distressing kit which was pretty cool, plus Artisitc Etchings and new colours to!! This is Marina Mist and Early Expresso nice huh? And check out the satin ribbon now that stuff it to die for!!!

The next one is the super cute Owl punch! How sweet is she?? It was so fun to make this card, I’m hoping to get to make a few more owls maybe tonight as I am catching up with some lovely ladies for a little holiday stamping fun!

So I best be off to get myself organised!

Have a great evening all.

Last one I promise!

OK as I mentioned before my DD (7) put in a request for a “Just Jawing” card for her birthday party she had today so I set to work last night! The party was for one of her good mates from school who loves super hero’s and skulls so she settled on red, black and gray as her colour scheme and I thought I’d give another of Keesha’s challenges ago to boot!

This week Keesh has given us a sketch challenge…..using a big oval eek!!

And here is what I came up with!!

Not what I would call my usual style but I have been using this set and style more then anything else of late….as I’m sure you can tell but I promise this is the last one! It has been really fun doing the grungy look!

No card for a gift is complete without matching wrapping paper so here is a photo of the lot!!

I was going to use my scary skulls wheel on this card as well but could not find it……I searched and searched for about half an hour and could not work out where  it disappeared to! I found it a little later on (you know about 12.30) when I went to hang the washing out! I had accidentally scooped it up and put it through the washing machine! It seems to have fared OK but still has black ink stains, hmph does nothing clean them off??

It was so nice to see how excited Jess was when she saw it this morning, and even nicer when the little girl didn’t want to rip the paper and asked if she could keep it. Ooooh it makes it so worth while doesn’t it?

OK that’s me have heaps to do before bed tonight as I’m hoping to catch up with a friend for an early breakie tomorrow morning!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Have you ever considered becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator?

Long time between drinks and awards!!!

Once again it’s been a while between posts sorry!! I had scheduled my last post due to the fact that we were going camping at Murphy’s Creek Escape. It was a fabulous spot and the kids and adults had a great time!! Click here to view the website and the photos from Anzac Day 2010 are ones taken by the lovely Vicki Dean. Can anyone spot my hubby lol??  Big kid that he is!

If you are looking for a bushing camping spot this one is da bomb! Well that was 2 weeks ago almost and I have worked nearly everyday since so I haven’t had a chance to stamp for a while! Sorry!

But in that time I have been awarded not 1 but 3 beautiful blog awards! Thanks to the 3 girls that thought of me Louise Sutton, Leonie Schroder and Claire Harrison. I feel so privileged!

OK so the rules are that I must pass the award on to another 10 Beautiful Blogs AND then tell you 10 things about myself (that could be a little dull!)

There are so many blogs I visit regularly because they are  full of inspiration but some have already been awarded this award so I thought I would try and lead you to some different blogs and perhaps to some who haven’t received this award or to those that haven’t had time to put it up on their blog like me lol!

4.  Kirsty Brown

5.  Jayne Mercer

6.  Sarah Klass

I hope I haven’t bored you to much they really aren’t fascinating facts are they???

Right best run as kid pick up is soon and I have to get a few things done as it’s my only day off this week.

Have a great day.

Out with the old……

Well it’s almost that time. What time you ask?? It’s time to say goodbye to both the Sale-a-bration catalogue and the current summer mini catalogue! Now I know it has been a while since I posted some inspiration for you but I have really been creating honest!! I have been flat out I did 5 workshops in 4 days last week, phew! I can tell you I was tired after that!! OK enough about that here are a few of the cards I created using the products we are saying goodbye to!!

During my mad 4 days I did 2 stamp a stacks and these 2 cards were among the ones we did! They were a case of a card made  by Kirsty Brown. Do go and check out her blog her work is amazing!! I changed the stamp set  used but the just loved the simplicity of the layout!

I have used the cake out of Happy Moments – This is a sale-a-bration set which you won’t be able to get after the 31st of March!

Next I’ve got a card with a similar layout that we made in my Tech class this month!!

In real life this card is super sparkly and if you would like to learn how to do this card come along to my tech class on the Friday the 26th March at 10am or the 29th at 7.30pm as I am repeating my tech class from the beginning of the month by popular demand!!

Come back tomorrow and see some cards made using my favourite stamp set out of the mini at the moment which is Razzle Dazzle!!

Have a great day

Really that long….

Wow where has the time gone?? Things have been so busy here that I have had to let a few things slide and one of those things was my blog! Just to give you an insight into what I’ve been up to. I’ve started working at Jackson’s Kindy one day a week and I volunteer at Jess’s school one day a week as well as I am doing my teacher’s aide certificate through TAFE.

Which then brings me to my next excuse I have been studying and doing assignments as well! Plus running the kids to their various activities. I am also preparing for an other Stamp Up a class room. You may remember from last year Vicki, Nicki and myself helped raise funds for a group of lovely people to go to Uganda to and build a classroom for orphans, well I am doing it again this year with the help of one of my lovely downlines Juanita.

I’ve also taken up Netball….yup netball. Reliving my youth I’m sure but it has been heaps of fun playing with a group of kindy mum’s but the rest of Thursday’s have been a write off as I have been so knackered!

And then again it’s World Card Making Day on the 3rd of October……being that it’s my 10 year wedding anniversary I thought I best postpone an event till later in the month, especially as we have had one on or near our anniversary for the last 2 years! Never fear though there will still be one on the 31st of October if you’d like to join us contact me now to book in as places are limited and it’s on the northside!!

That about wraps it up I do have heaps of photo’s for you to see but I just haven’t had a chance to edit them and get them up….in time I promise

Please bear with me speak soon

I’m back…… and have a few excuses!!

Well what a whirlwind of a holiday I have had!! I did take my laptop with me with the idea that I would update my blog while I was away. As you can see that so did not happen! Also while we were away my grandma (94) had a fall and is in hospital in Ipswich so I drove up there yesterday to visit  add to this that  I have come back with some nasty lurgy and haven’t been feeling great so again haven’t really been up to updating my blog. Sorry guys I know you are dying to find out all about it!! So here goes. (warning this could be long!)

Now you know how bad I am at taking photo’s but I have tried my hardest and managed to take a few!!! But the ones I didn’t think to get I’m sure have been captured by some others and I will direct you over to their blogs to take a sticky beak!!

So I figure I best start at the beginning and tell you all about our incentive trip!! As it was in Noosa Neil and I were lucky enough to be able to drive so that meant no departure schedule and no baggage allowance…Alright!!! So we hit the road about 10am and decided to stop in at the Eumundi markets, such a short drive and we had never been so that was fantastic to wonder around leisurely without having to worry about losing the kids!!

Once we arrived at the Sheraton we were booked into our suite……..Yeap you heard me we had a suite. 2 queen beds in one room and a king size bed in the other! Total luxury. Then we headed down to the hospitality desk to see the Stampin’ Up! girls. Janiel is the most awsome organiser you will ever meet she plans everything with such presision it is scary. (more about that later) Her very trusty and extremely helpful side kick this year was Angie and she was just gorgeous. As we were sitting there chatting who do you think walked in?  Shelli and Sterling, It was so nice to see them both again and sit down and visit (as Shellie says) for a while!

Next we headed down to the surf club to join my bestest mates Nicki and Vicki for a spot of lunch!

As you can see they have defiantely turned the weather on for us it was so warm and the sun was out! Just gorgeous!!! On our way back to the hotel we did a spot of retail therapy and then back for a little nap and some unpacking before dinner!

Stampin’ Up! had organised  gorgeous welcome drinks and dinner for us! It was so nice to all get together and catch up! On our table we had Linda Higgins and Georgina Martin, Makeesha and Rod Byl, Nicki and Dave Tidbold and obviously myself and Neil!

These are the touches that Janiel adds to make things just so special!

Check out Keesha’s blog for photo’s us at dinner, she’s also got a view of the pool area over there!!

Those of you who know me well know that the one thing I like better then stampin is chocolate so of course this is where my camera came out….

Look at this for desert yummo!! There were more deserts than I could manage to try but they all looked so cute don’t you reckon!! We then went and had a drink in the bar before turning in for the night. Of course in true Stampin’ Up! style there was a pillow gift in our room! Of course no photo but again Makeesha has a photo of it as does Marelle on her blog.

I was so excited to see a handmade card with the gift and you’ll never guess it was made by Shelli and she had personally written in it. I will take a photo and post it tomorrow along with the highlights of day 2!!

Well I hope I haven’t put you to sleep and I promise I’ll come back again soon

Don’t fall off your chair….

But I have finally managed to get in and do a challenge of Keesha’s. I know I said that was my goal to do all the challenges but life has just been getting in the way of stamping again! This weekend alone I have had 2 kids birthday parties to attend, a workshop to do and we had PMS (Pizza, Music and Stamping) here and it’s only Sunday lunch time!

Anywho enough excuses the challenge I was talking about is a sketch challenge……

I had to make a boys card for this mornings party so thought I’d kill 2 birds with one stone so this is what I came up with.

As you can see I have turned the sketch over and have used the Loads of Love stamp set. I got this set in my starter kit when I very first joined up and I must admit is has been very under used! The main reason being I don’t colour very well!! So I thought I’d pull it out and give it a work out! I actually used my chalks to colour it in and found it much easier!

You can’t tell by the picture but I did thump and bump the base card in Not Quiet Navy so it has added texture IRL.

Colours used are Not quiet Navy, Always Artichoke, choc chip and bashful blue.

Right best run I can hear small children yelling at a naughty dog in the rumpus room and no doubt some discipline is needed. (both children and dog!!)

Speak soon

I have gone back to the tried and tested!

Yup that’s right I am over the laptop and trying to post on there so I’ve gone back to the semi reliable desktop! Yesterday I was trying to download some photo’s of teachers gifts I’d made off the camera and I lost the lot yeap you heard right I lost them off the laptop and in my infinite wisdom I had it set to delete after they were downloaded and so they were gone of the memory card to!!

I can tell you they were cute!! Perhaps if I get a chance I’ll make another and photograph it. I’d made 3 different ones and they were all so purdy!

Things have been getting a bit on top of me lately where I am feeling like everything is just to hard but over this weekend I have sat down and worked out a planner/ timetable for my week and scheduled everything in so am feeling much better about it all. I’ve also cleaned up my stamp room and house which was getting me down!

The other distraction I have of late is my new addition to the family (Bella) Seriously look at this face you’d think she was an angel!!!

Well let me assure you looks can be deceiving! We have erected many kinds of containment units over the last few months. Alas she is Houdini reincarnate! She can jump, chew, dig her way out of anything!!! So we have had to bite the bullet and bought a static shock fence! OK dog lovers don’t condemn me here but she has scared a little girl up the road once when she escaped and I’m afraid she will get in trouble and the good ole timber fence is not doing the trick!

Here’s a photo of the kids helping to show her where the warning zone is!

The little flags you see are where the beeps on the collar start if she takes about 2 steps past it she will get a shock from the collar. So far so good. Neil is tempted to get a collar for the neighbourhood kids to keep them out! (not nice)

OK so I know it has been ages and my excuses are poor so I thought I’d treat you to a collection of cards I made using the new set  Good Friend for our NEW catalogue launch on the 3rd.

And then last but not least a scrap page as well!

This is a layout I saw on Keeha’s blog ages ago and filed it away thinking yeap one day I’ll do a page with that and finally I did! This is Jess and one of her good mates on her 6th birthday!

With all of these I have used the new incolours cardstock and ink and the new Good Friend stamp set. I have also used the Good Morning sunshine DSP. These items all came from the preorder but Stampin’ Up! did not offer any ribbon in this preorder…..seriously what were they thinking! But luckily I received an invite to a managers function at convention made bu some lovely person at Stampin’ Up! and they used the Kiwi Kiss striped ribbon. So I just sort of borrowed it and made it stretch 3 cards! Thanks Stampin’ Up!

Hope to see you all again soon. If you still stop by sometimes do pop in and say hi so I know your still out there!!!

Speak soon

Just a super quick one! I’m sorry I didn’t make it back but I’m prepping for my technique classes tomorrow and Tuesday and I seem to be out of practice!! So it has taken much longer then I had anticipated!!

And I’m still not done!!

Keep checking I will be here tomorrow fingers crossed!
