Bright Birthday, Lovely Inside and Out

For my stamp a stack last night I wanted something bright and fun for one of my birthday cards and I couldn’t go past the Lovely inside and out stamp set, it really is such a fun and funky set! I paired it with one of my favourite colour combinations! Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime twist with a splash of black!

As well as being a fun and funky card it was super easy to make, I simply randomly stamped the image multiple times in various colours on the bottom half of the card. I then stamped Happy Birthday in archival black and ran the friend thinlit through the bigshot and snipped it out of the oval so it could stand alone on the page. Of course it’s popped up on dimensionals!

Then the whole front panel is popped up on dimensionals and mounts on a base of Bermuda Bay!

Simple yet effective, well I think so anyway! What do you think? Would you give this card to someone you know?

Whoa what happened there??

I had been on such a roll with card making and blogging and low and behold life and work gets in the way of all the fun stuff so not fair!!

We are currently in week 4 of term 3 so the craziness is well and truly upon us, today I had to postpone my technique class for a number of reasons but it has given me a little spare time to update my blog. So some good news out of a bad news. I do love technique class and the ladies who come are just gorgeous. I’ll miss them this evening! I have rescheduled for next Wednesday 14th of August so it will still happen!

I missed updating you on this months calendar…….so here it is!

Cardstock and Pad Kit (item 132281, page 139): The price for the Cardstock & Pad Kit is listed incorrectly as $47.95. The correct price is $93.95.

World Map Stamp (item 130342 for wood, 130345 for clear, page 23): The stamp includes two offensive words, ‘Negroland’ and ‘Cafreria’, which have since been removed. The artwork we used for the image was taken from a historical map in the Library of Congress and the words were not noticed until recently. We hope it is understood that our intent has never been to belittle or offend our demonstrators and customers. We sincerely apologize for any insult or affront resulting from this oversight. We have updated the World Map Stamp, and anticipate that the stamp will be ready to order sometime in August.

Label Pop ‘n Cuts (item 130160, page 188): We have recently learned that the Label Pop ‘n Cuts Die was incorrectly produced–the die cuts instead of scores across the score line. Our supplier repaired the defect and we are replacing our inventory. The new and improved die will be ready to order 12 July.

Wood-Mount Cases (item 127551 for full, 127552 for half, page 197): The new full and half wood-mount cases (sold in packs of four) have been delayed. You will still get your new wood-mount stamps sets in these cases, but we will be unable to fulfil orders for the additional wood-mount cases when the catalogue goes live. Stay tuned for when they will be available to order.

Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Addition (item 132986, page 176): We will announce when this item is available for order.

The Best of…….

To celebrate Stampin’ Up!’s 25th anniversary each month Stampin’ UP! will be releasing a best of stamp set! They will be bring back some of the most loved stamps from within a set as well as a never before seen image!

This month (June) we have The Best of Flowers. It is such a cute set that brings back a favourite of mine Upsy Diasy in miniture! Gosh I miss that set!

Some things to remember:

All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $25.95.
While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month (with a new theme each month) until October, all of the Best of sets will be available until April 2014.
All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
The stamp images may be sized differently from the original stamp sets.

Challenges x 2

Well amongst all the school holiday fun and getting ready for retreat in August I have had some time to sit down and create a few cards!! I really haven’t had time in ages to create just for creatings sake that I found my mojo had disappeared….whoosh just gone completely! So I jumped on Keesha’s site to find out what challenge she has going at the moment! Even though she is a million miles away in Canada she doesn’t disappoint!

She had a colour challenge going and check out these colours!! They are my colours if I do say so myself!!

I thought I would challenge myself a little more and try and use some of the stamp sets that are on special at the moment and no doubt haven’t seen ink in a very long time or never!! Here is my first card! I wasn’t overly happy with how it turned out which is why i decided to try again….I was really struggling not using the Cottage Wall DSP and cottage garden stamp set!! I lurve them both so much!!

And here is my second card. I have cased the layout (sort of) from Teneale I didn’t have a really nice saying to pop on the oval so I had to work with what I had…..bear in mind it was about half one in the morning as I was stamping this bit! If it was earlier I would have done it again and stamped it a little lower. Again I’m not completely happy with how this turned out but I was really happy to have created something!! Now to just go and enter it into Keesha’s challenge.

So which one do you like best?

I better run as I have 4 kids today and it’s so nice to hear them playing so nicely with each other but no doubt they will start to get hungry very soon.

Ok this is my third try this morning to get this post up I have had it all pretty with pictures of the specials and everything but it’s just not playing my game!

I’m home!!

Just thought I’d drop in and say hi and let you all know that I am home from Canberra and have almost defrosted!! LOL no seriously the weather was just gorgeous there and I had a great time and caught up with some new and old friends which was fantastic!!

So what do you think of the changes to my site….I’ve been having a little bit of an image overhaul…I’ve finally run out of business cards from my first ever website design so I have been trying to design some new ones and thought I’d make my website look similar!! So far I am rapt with the look of it!

Book of Me!

I mentioned in my newsletter this month that I had started doing Nicki’s Book of Me class. Well she has been kind enough to allow me to run one to! My Book of Me class starts this coming Wednesday and I still have a few spots left! So if you’d like to get in on some scrappin give me a shout ASAP so we can figure out what designer series paper you’d like to work in!

I’m doing mine in Ginger Blossom…… Here’s my first page!

I really like this photo of me! Yes strange I know but I’d had my hair and make up done for last years convention awards night dinner, it’s not often my hair looks good! I have to thank Nic for taking the photo as per usual I wouldn’t have one otherwise!!

Also an update on the bush fire appeal, the total so far as of the 20 of Feb is $15744.85 to be donated by Stampin Up! How wonderful is Stampin’ Up!, it’s demonstrators and customers. I think that is an awsome effort and I am so proud that I can be pat of it!

This huge effort is Australia alone, but they have notified all their overseas markets of the tradgedy and given details of how they can donate directly to the appeal! Seriously how cool is that!

Many demonstrators (myself included) are also donating their commission from the sale of these sets to the appeal as well so if you’d like to get in on the act give me a shout now and order one of these sets (scroll down to see the list!)

$1000 CATALOGUE WORKSHOP EVENT

Yes it's that time of year again! Where I am scrambling to try and achieve the Stampin' Up! incentive trip. This years trip is to Noosa and after going last year I HAVE to make it!! If you haven't heard me mention it before to earn the trip it's a combination of sales and promotions within your team. I am still a little way off so thought I would offer a little special of my own!

Here's how it works:- 10 individuals are required to participate in the Catalogue Workshop Event, you can gather orders or just place your own order of $100.00 or more and you can then benefit in the hostess gifts.

Simply show your friends, family and co workers the 2008/09 Ideas book and catalogue and new summer mini catalogue and collect $100.00 (prior to postage) or more in orders before the 30th of January 2009. I love the soft feel of this card and the rub on's just make it!!

I have used soft sky card stock and a piece of the spring silhouettes designer series paper. I have used the pick a petal stamp set for the flower petals and polka dot background.

The rub on's are from Eastern Elegance from the Spring mini! I won't say it cause I'm sure you know when it finishes!!!
