Love Sparkles Thank You

In November I attended  Stampin’ Up! Onstage here in Brisbane, it was 3 days of hanging out with friends (old and new) who love to craft as much as me and talk about all things paper, ink and stamps. I was lucky enough to win one of the prize patrol prizes. It was a stamp set called Love Sparkles, it’s pretty cute but has sat neglected on my shelf since returning home.

I thought it was time for it to get off the shelf and get inked, I chose to use the Thank You stamp as it fitted perfectly in one of the medium oval stitched shape framelits {did you read yesterday you can buy them again now??} I think it turned out really pretty, I love the soft colours together and this sheet of DSP is really versatile it comes out of the Falling in Love pack.

Do you recognise what other stamp set I have used? Yes I know I just can’t help myself. It’s the small flower out of the Special Reason stamp set, I had no idea when I purchased it just how much I was going to love it! You can’t tell in the photo I have some Wink of Stella on the centers of the flowers.

I’m pretty happy with how my photo turned out as well, I have finally found a perfect spot to take photo’s. I have been seen traipsing around the yard in search of the perfect location {quiet often mumbling}. But yesterday I was taking some photo’s of kids toys for sale in the backroom and the lighting was great, there was no wind blowing the card over and no blue tinge! {which have been my recent photographic issues} Winning….well for now anyway let hope it’s as good tomorrow when I photograph the next card!

What do you think have you noticed my photo’s are getting better?

Thanks for stopping by

The base is Natural Ivory…..yes we do sell that and no it’s not confetti cream! Watato Fundraiser…..

What a great night we had last night! There was everything you could ask for……stamping, great company and wonderful food as well as 2 of the cutest kiddies going. One of which I had the privilege of cuddling most of the evening. Hopefully he was good for his mum for the rest of the night!!

I did take some photo’s of the evening but haven’t downloaded them yet but thought I’d hop on and show you some of the cards I designed for the evening! And yes Leanne I will come back and post them I promise!! hehehe.

church2

Here is the first ones It was inspired by a card by Kim Gavarra . We caught up for a Brissie Demo morning tea awhile back and as soon as I saw it I had to give the colours and stamp set a shot!! Thanks Kim for your inspiration.  Stamps used are Circle Circus, Think Happy thoughts  as well as the Polka dot background. Colours used are Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant and So Saffron.

church5

The next is a Christmas note card that is just so cute even if I do say so myself! Again Circle Circus was used for the round balls and the other bauble is from the tree trimmings stamp set which I might add has become a firm favourite of mine! Colours are Kiwi Kiss, Ridinghood Red and Chocolate chip!!

church3

Here is another of the male cards!! I am so on a roll!! This one used the Sense of Time Stamp set and Sanded background. Again this is such an easy stamp set to use and make look great. The colours are Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue and Kraft. I have also used a strip of Parisian Breeze designer series paper.

The next one  has been posted  previously here, and the last one I am keeping secret for the time being as it may make an appearance at our World Card Making Day event on the 31st of October. (which we still have a few spaces left if you’d like to join us!)

This is such a worthwhile cause, these people raise money to build either a house or school house for the children that have been orphaned by aids in Uganda, they then pay their own way over so they can actually build it themselves!! Seriously how cool is that!

Evelyn (one of the organisers) shared with us at the beginning of the evening a story about a boy throwing star fish back into the water along a beach (which had hundreds on it) a passer by said to the boy I wouldn’t bother, you won’t make a difference. The boy picked up an other star fish and threw it back into the water and said to the man “I made a difference to that one” . And this organisation does so much more then make a difference to one child. If you would like to donate to this wonderful cause contact me and I will pass your details along to the organises at the church.

I was lucky enough to spend the day in the garden, (gardening)  today with the children and Neil so best go and do some indoor jobs before the week starts all over again!

Have a great week and I’ll be back again in the not to distant future!

Men’s cards eek…..

Hello all,

Well I have actually been having a play with some of my stamps and creating for both the fundraiser I am participating in, in 2 weeks as well as for World Card Making day which we are holding on the 31st of October. There is still space so contact me if you’d like to come along!

I also had to make a card for my darling husband as it was our 10 year anniversary yesterday and one for my BIL who’s birthday is in October too! So I am on male card overdose but thought I’d share my card for the BIL tonight as well as a sneak peak of one that will be made on the 31st!!

stewart

Here is the card I made for my BIL Stewart I had bought Lovely as a Tree ages ago but haven’t had occasion to use it so thought I’d pull it out and play I love how this tree stamps it has it’s own shadows in it without me having to try! Gotta love that!

I was having a little play and coloured the trunk with my new copic markers….yes yes I know I said I wouldn’t succumb to the copic desire but they were sent to me by my gorgeous MIL and I love them so so much!!! Everything else is Stampin’ Up! I am really loving these colours at the moment and going through heaps of Baja Breeze and Choc Chip cardstock!!

Next is in the same colour tones but this is one of the cards we will be making at World Card Making day….

sneakpeak

If you want to see the rest and make it book in now. Can you guess what stamp set I have used for this card.

Right best be off it’s getting late and I’m trying to do my newsletter so watch out in your inbox for that!!

Incentive trip swap…..

Good evening all, hope you have all managed to stay healthy after the lovely dusty weather we have had of late! I can hardly wait for the impending washing of windows that will follow this weekend!

I have popped up a few photo’s from incentive trip in a folder in my gallery as there is no hope of me catching you all up, I’m not even going to try and kid myself. I think if you click on them you will be able to read the comments!! But I thought I’d show you the card I made as my swap card.

incentive-swap

I was really happy with how it turned out I’ve stamped in bleach on the Baja Breeze cardstock with the damask stamp out of  the Friends 24/7 stamp set. If you are going to try stamping with bleach use a chux as a stamp pad, don’t tap to much on the bleach as it will create bubbles and that’s not good for you! Ensure you clean your stamp well with our Stampin’  Mist as it will condition your stamp as well as clean it!  I got some amazing samples back for the super talented demonstrators who were on incentive trip with me and no doubt you will see some cases in upcoming classes and workshops!

Colours used are Kraft, Choc chip, Baja Breeze and whisper white. Am loving this combo at the moment!

Have a great weekend and happy cleaning!!

I’m back…… and have a few excuses!!

Well what a whirlwind of a holiday I have had!! I did take my laptop with me with the idea that I would update my blog while I was away. As you can see that so did not happen! Also while we were away my grandma (94) had a fall and is in hospital in Ipswich so I drove up there yesterday to visit  add to this that  I have come back with some nasty lurgy and haven’t been feeling great so again haven’t really been up to updating my blog. Sorry guys I know you are dying to find out all about it!! So here goes. (warning this could be long!)

Now you know how bad I am at taking photo’s but I have tried my hardest and managed to take a few!!! But the ones I didn’t think to get I’m sure have been captured by some others and I will direct you over to their blogs to take a sticky beak!!

So I figure I best start at the beginning and tell you all about our incentive trip!! As it was in Noosa Neil and I were lucky enough to be able to drive so that meant no departure schedule and no baggage allowance…Alright!!! So we hit the road about 10am and decided to stop in at the Eumundi markets, such a short drive and we had never been so that was fantastic to wonder around leisurely without having to worry about losing the kids!!

Once we arrived at the Sheraton we were booked into our suite……..Yeap you heard me we had a suite. 2 queen beds in one room and a king size bed in the other! Total luxury. Then we headed down to the hospitality desk to see the Stampin’ Up! girls. Janiel is the most awsome organiser you will ever meet she plans everything with such presision it is scary. (more about that later) Her very trusty and extremely helpful side kick this year was Angie and she was just gorgeous. As we were sitting there chatting who do you think walked in?  Shelli and Sterling, It was so nice to see them both again and sit down and visit (as Shellie says) for a while!

Next we headed down to the surf club to join my bestest mates Nicki and Vicki for a spot of lunch!

surf-club

As you can see they have defiantely turned the weather on for us it was so warm and the sun was out! Just gorgeous!!! On our way back to the hotel we did a spot of retail therapy and then back for a little nap and some unpacking before dinner!

Stampin’ Up! had organised  gorgeous welcome drinks and dinner for us! It was so nice to all get together and catch up! On our table we had Linda Higgins and Georgina Martin, Makeesha and Rod Byl, Nicki and Dave Tidbold and obviously myself and Neil!

flower

These are the touches that Janiel adds to make things just so special!

Check out Keesha’s blog for photo’s us at dinner, she’s also got a view of the pool area over there!!

Those of you who know me well know that the one thing I like better then stampin is chocolate so of course this is where my camera came out….

desert

Look at this for desert yummo!! There were more deserts than I could manage to try but they all looked so cute don’t you reckon!! We then went and had a drink in the bar before turning in for the night. Of course in true Stampin’ Up! style there was a pillow gift in our room! Of course no photo but again Makeesha has a photo of it as does Marelle on her blog.

I was so excited to see a handmade card with the gift and you’ll never guess it was made by Shelli and she had personally written in it. I will take a photo and post it tomorrow along with the highlights of day 2!!

Well I hope I haven’t put you to sleep and I promise I’ll come back again soon

Day 3 & 4

OK I've just got my spell checker back on my computer and thought I'd get the whole of incentive trip done today!!

Day 3 started with make and takes with a new set called Ocean Commotion which will be in the next mini catalogue. We are very privileged as not even the Americans have this set!!! As you can imagine there was lots of cheering when we found this out.

Here is our table for the make n takes. We had heaps of fun and the make n takes were so cute. I will photograph and get them up here I promise!

Before this very composed photo there was absolute chaos while the swaps went on. It was so funny! I have some fabulous swap cards…..no surprises there, we were swapping with the top 25 demonstrators in Australia and New Zealand!!

We then had the rest of the day and following day free and our last event was dinner with the lions on Saturday night.

We all jumped on buses to head up to the Safari Park and my dear friends Nicki and Vicki had compiled a karaoke CD for the journey. Our bus was dubbed the "party bus" and everyone joined in singing and having a laugh. It made a very windy road trip go very quickly which I was very very grateful for!!

Here's Keesh with he mic. This was 'her song" we also had guest performances from Ngaire who sang Dancing Queen by Abba. Which was quickly changed to Stamping Queen!! Marelle Taylor's hubby Dave sung to Summer of 69, complete with guitar actions on an umbrella. To name just a few! By the time we reached the top I had tears running down my face. It was a great trip. Thanks girls!!

But then the real entertainment started. We were greeting with some nibbles and taken down to the hippo enclosure. We had a talk on hippo behaviour and other aspects of their lives which was fascinating. We were then lead up to the back of the lion enclosure. We had a small stop along the way to be greeted by a very talented man who spun fire!

Then onto the lions! We arrived to find a pride of male lions sniffing the enclosure where we were to eat dinner. We were only separated by a chain link fence and an electric wire. You felt like you could reach out and touch them they were so close! We later found out the one stalking up and down was called grouchy. It seemed very appropriate as he looked like he either wanted to eat someone or wanted a pat!!

Once we were settled they released the other pride of lions. Having 15 grown lions come racing towards you out of the dark is an exhilarating experience. The pulled up quick smart though when the smelt and spotted all the chicken carcasses!

Here's grouchy. I have a closer photo when he had his nose right up to the wire but it was blurry! The next photo is of one of the smaller lions having a snack of chicken carcass

We were then given a guided tour through the park to see the other animals which was just great they even had bears!!!

The trip back on the bus was much more subdued and everyone headed pretty much straight off to bed after such a magical evening. The next day is was time to get up and leave. there were lots of hugs and promises to see each other next year at Noosa.

I think that pretty much sums up my time away so I'll move on from here!  I will work on getting a photo album on here so I can add all the other photo's I didn't get to add to the posts and ones of the pressies for you to see.

Day 2

Today we went by train up to Kuranda, this is a gorgeous journey with heaps of stunning scenery and a lot of history behind the journey. Did you know that there used to be more people living up on the Tablelands then in Cairns originally? I didn't. We were very lucky to have our very own history buff with us. It was the chef from the train station he was full of info… OK here's a couple of pics. I'm trying to add a photo gallery to this site so I don't have to put a post every single photo cause there are heaps!!

Here we are as the train approaches nothing like being safety conscious!!

Here's us on the train having a ball! It was such a fun trip. Once in Kuranda we had a look around at all the markets and then headed back down on the sky rail. Now this was even more amazing!! My DH took great delight in spotting all the green ants nests! Lot's of laughs on the way back down!

He's the view looking back from our car! What view!!! There are 2 stops on the way back down and here's a photo of my hubby being silly and naughty…I'm sure he wasn't meant to be near this tree but the trunk was just massive and without him there you didn't get a true indication of just how huge it was!!

We were then bused back to the resort. When we arrived back we were greeted with yet another pressie! This time is was a workshop wow DVD from the girls in the states. It is fabo and you can bet I am going to be using some of it in future classes! We had take away Indian for dinner  as we were all so tired but it was a great day!

OK I'm off to prep for my team meeting tonight but I promise I'll be back tomorrow with another days stories! We did make and takes and swaps so stay tuned I'll even post some stamping this time!!!LOL

Day 1

Well luckily my good friend Vick has come to the rescue and sent me some pictures of the first few days so I can at least post this in chronological order!

We arrived at the airport early Wednesday morning and meet up with the lovely Noami Swan and her downline and friend Julia, we booked onto our flight and made our way up to the departure gate. We found all the New Zealand demonstrators and hubbies as well as  Emma the New Zealand manager and her hubby Shaun, we were soon joined by the other achieving demo's and their hubbies or guests. Kim, Robyn and Liz it was the start of a very special few days.

As I was so totally disorganised I was assembling my swaps on the plane which did get a few strange looks but Neil and Noami gave me hand so in no time we had it done, only glitter to go. I did give it a shot on the plane but decided it was a tad to messy and decided to save it for the hotel!! LOL!

We were met at the Cairns Airport by the American girls who organised the trip as well as Nicki and Vicki who went up the day before. I was met with a sign saying "WELCOME PRINCESS STEPH and Neil" Which made me feel very special! Hopefully one of them has a photo of this as I don't.

Once at the resort and settled into our very luxurious suites it was time for a beautiful smorgasbord dinner at the resort before being bused off for a game of lawn bowls.

Our team consisted of Shelli and Sterling, Kim and Warren and my darling hubby and myself! Now I think the only reason other then our competitions name was Yo-Yo Yellow (lol) was Warren's bowling prowess. He'd only done it once but I think he scored three out of our 5 points. It was a blast! We didn't win anything but had heaps of fun playing and getting to know the other members of our teams a little better!

We were then returned home to find a gorgeously wrapped pressie on our kitchen bench that had the nicest softest zip up jumper in it! It was white with a Stampin' Up! logo on the sleeve and the palm cove insignia on the left side. I'll get a photo of it once it's washed, it's at the bottom of my laundry basket at the moment!

Right that's all for today will give you some more tomorrow otherwise this post will be mammoth!
