Ink & Inspiration Blog hop - Masculine Cards

Welcome to the third Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting me Stephanie Pike from Australia. This month’s theme is watercolour! Now if you attend my classes you will know I am not one for traditional watercolouring, I just don’t have the patience  or the know how for it to look awesome. So I tend not to do it!

So today I have done something a little different! I have done a tissue paper watercolour background! It is so super easy to create and so effective, but a little messy lol!!

There are a number of tutorials out there, but I thought I’d do one for you so I could share it here! Please be kind it’s my first video tutorial i have ever done with me talking!!

I didn’t mention it in my video but the colours I used are Lemon lime twist, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay!

I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog and through the blog hop today have inspired you & brightened your day.  Check out the list below & hop on through all of the awesome crafters on the list to see all our projects. Trust me you don’t want to miss any!

Another stamp a stack card!

Here’s a stamp set that hasn’t seen ink for a little while, I seem to gravitate my newer stamp sets when I’m prepping for class. It’s almost like taking the easy way out so this time I thought I’d pull out an old favourite, I really did once upon a time love Paisley and Posies but it was pushed aside when new goodies arrived!

Paisley & Posies birthday card. Using crumb cake, pumpkin pie and daffodil delight. For more information visit

I randomly stamped my images across the whisper white cardstock, I’ve used pumpkin pie, daffodil delight and crumb cake (which really isn’t my normal cololurs) but I’m happy with how they go together! I’ve edged the whisper white in crumb cake and mounted it on a piece of pumpkin pie. The cardbase I’ve used is crumb cake!

The Happy birthday sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, cut out with an oval stitched shaped framelit and backed with a scalloped oval. With a little piece of crumb cake ribbon for decoration!

Don’t forget if you are placing an order this month to use my hostess code to earn rewards from me!!

Bright Birthday, Lovely Inside and Out

For my stamp a stack last night I wanted something bright and fun for one of my birthday cards and I couldn’t go past the Lovely inside and out stamp set, it really is such a fun and funky set! I paired it with one of my favourite colour combinations! Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime twist with a splash of black!

Bright Birthday card using lovely Inside and Out. For more information visit

As well as being a fun and funky card it was super easy to make, I simply randomly stamped the image multiple times in various colours on the bottom half of the card. I then stamped Happy Birthday in archival black and ran the friend thinlit through the bigshot and snipped it out of the oval so it could stand alone on the page. Of course it’s popped up on dimensionals!

Then the whole front panel is popped up on dimensionals and mounts on a base of Bermuda Bay!

Simple yet effective, well I think so anyway! What do you think? Would you give this card to someone you know?

Don’t forget the month is flying by and time is running out to place your orders and earn some free money to spend next month, that’s right free rewards! For every $90 spent (excluding postage) you will earn a $9 voucher to redeem next month and if you use the hostess code below you will also go into the draw to win a Tranquil Tulips stamp set! Now that’s pretty exciting! So don’t delay place your $90 order today!!

Did you know and a little incentive!

You may or may not know but this year I have been trying to earn the Stampin’ Up! incentive trip, It’s an all expenses paid trip to Alaska for 2! It’s on a cruise (which just quietly scares the living daylights out of me) but if there was ever a place I truly would love to visit it’s Alaska even if I have to be on a boat to do it!

Stampin' Up! Alaska incentive trip 2018

Anyway I have done extra classes, and been blogging more then I ever have before and have I’m currently not as close as I would like to be but I’m also not a million miles away which makes me want to go for it even more!

Lovely inside and out take 2!

We have had a few huge days with my big girl competing for Met North in State Cross Country championship! She never ceases to amaze me, she trains so hard and it’s nice to see her succeed! This is the first time she has made the Met North team in cross country since she was 11 so she was pretty excited!

She placed 12th in the state for 14 year old girls which was super exciting! She then ran in 2 relays yesterday the 14 year olds and then made up numbers in the 17 year olds. In both relays the teams came 4th so she was a pretty happy with the results!

Anyway enough about my weekend you probably came her for a little inspiration??

Well here it is I needed a quick and easy birthday card at the last minute, so whipped this once in not time at all! I used the same colours and technically the same layout as I used in this post here!

But why wouldn’t you? It’s such and awesome layout and the colours well I think they are a favourite at the moment for me!

Berry Burst Colourful Seasons!

It’s school holidays here and one again I am left wondering how on earth I fit work into our busy schedule lol! The kids have had a great time catching up with friends and training and I’ve even managed to get to crossfit a most days which feels so good!

This was the first time I’d used the branch stamp and flowers from the Colourful Season’s stamp set and I love it!! It lines up so easily and looks so cute on your card! Can you believe the all the flowers and buds are one stamp and it lines up so well!

Colourful Seasons using Berry Burst

The card itself was super easy to put together, I simply cut a strip of the Berry Burst colour theory DSP to the bottom of a piece of whisper white cardstock. I then stamped the branch and the the sentiments in Early Espresso, once I had done that I stamped the flowers in Berry Burst. I then simple wrapped a piece of linen thread around the front panel, popped it up on Stampin’ dimensionals and adhered it to a piece of thick whisper white cardstock.  To finish it off I added a few small pearls and I was done!

Just quietly I love the sentiment as well it could be used for so many different reasons and the script is just so cute to!

Oh so eclectic…!

There is so much I love in the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue and this card uses a few of my new favourite things!!

So to start with I used the new Oh so Eclectic stamp set…this one is a ripper and is going to be insanely popular I reckon! It’s so good it even graces the cover of the new catalogue!

It was the most popular card from Monday night’s stamp a stack by far! The other new items that I used that I absolutely adore are the new Polka dot embossing folder. If you look in the catalogue the image looks like the old embossing folder…it’s not it’s this new cool one. The dots are smaller and randomly placed!

I’ve also used some of the new Bermuda Bay mini chevron ribbon, which is so cute and lovely to work with! And last but not least lets discuss this awesome new Foil Frenzy DSP! Oh my it is just divine!! I can see me using quiet a few packets of this little beauty!

Just quietly I also love the sentiments in the Beautiful Boutique stamp set, they are so pretty and just the right size!

There is a lot of love in my post tonight lol! Maybe it’s the fact I’m typing away while watching the end of Criminal Minds and even that’s getting a bit soopy lol!

Click on any of the images below to purchase any of the products I’ve used in today’s project from my online store! Don’t forget to use this months host code when shopping, it’s only got a day or 2 left before I close it off!

A sad farwell with Beautiful Bouquet

My boy’s core teacher is left at the end of this term to go an pursue her dreams, my boy adored her so was slightly devastated when he learnt she was going!

But we are also very excited for her, such a big step to leave a full time job to pursue a dream! He wanted to give her a special card and together this is what we came up with!

We have used Beautiful Bouquet and the matching framelits, I’m really pleased with how it turned out. I will admit it was a little fiddly as we popped up all the flowers but I think it was worth it!

Beautiful Bouquet

What do you think? Could you see yourself making a card with this set? I’m hoping to get another play with it sometime soon as I am on school holidays with the kids and plan on setting some time aside to just play!

Don’t forget to check out July’s class schedule I’d love to see you at class during the month!

Ink and Inspiration Blog hop #2 – Masculine Cards

Ink & Inspiration Blog hop - Masculine Cards

I’m so excited to be participating in my second design team blog hop! This month the theme is Masculine cards, I personally really struggle with masculine cards, I don’t have a lot of stamp sets dedicated to males so I need to try and think outside the box and use “unisex” images and trick them up with male colours!

To be honest the first card I came up with I would be happy to receive it, as would my hubby so maybe it should be classed as a unisex card lol!

Lovely inside and out in bermuda bay, lemon lime twist and basic gray.

I adore these colours together and am actually struggling to come up with other colour combinations at the moment…..a little sad hey?

Anyway I thought I’d challenge myself and try another masculine card…..without using the above colours lol! This is the second card I came up with.

Coffe Break DSP, Masculine cards

Both are pretty easy to put together and I do love me some random stampin to make my own background paper if you haven’t noticed!

What do you think? Which one would you pick to give to a male in your life?

Now don’t forget to keep hopping and checking out all the other gorgeous creations my team mates have designed. I hope we have inspired you to get into your craftroom and make something masculine!

Tranquil Tulips Sympathy card.

Thankfully I don’t have to make to many sympathy cards, it’s not the cards themselves I don’t like it’s the fact I don’t like the reason behind them! It means someone has lost someone they care about and that makes me so very sad!

I always think Sympathy cards need to be softer, more muted in colour! A friend asked me to make 2 sympathy cards for her and this is one of the cards I came up with! You may notice it’s a case of one of the cards I did for launch that you can see here.  I’ve choosen some lighter colours going instead for Powder pink, early espresso and Pear Pizzazz.

Tranquil Tulips - Sympathy Card

The With Sympathy stamp is from the new to me set Flourishing Phrases, it’s actually got a few lovely sentiments in it that would be great for the front and inside of a sympathy card!

As tricky as they sometimes are I I really love how this sympathy card turned out, it’s so pretty in real life and I hope my friend who I made it for likes it to!

Shadow box card technique!

Do you ever find it difficult to find balance? I seem to be an all or nothing type of person. I have been struggling to find a balance between my day job, kids, fitness and Stampin’ Up! I really want to make a success of my Stampin’ Up! and I thank each and everyone of you who visit my blog regularily, come to class and purchase goodies from me! But sometimes especially when I go to crossfit and struggle through a work out I realise I have been neglecting my fitness goals! Am I only the one who struggles with things like that?

Hopefully one day I’ll nail it, but until then I will keep chugging along trying my best!

I wanted to share this card with you that we made at technique class last week! It was super easy yet it looks very fancy!

I used my very favourite hostess set again! I always really like the hostess sets Stampin’ Up! offer but often don’t preorder them but when I saw this set I knew immediately I needed! Not wanted NEEDED it!!! They stamp up so beautifully!

I also used a little piece of the naturally Eclectic DSP, the colours in it are awesome and can be teamed with a heap of colours!

I changed the dimensions a little but essentially this is the tutorial I used when making my card, I love Dawn’s work and often check out her work when I’m struggling to come up with something!

If you give this a go I’d love to see what you come up with!!

Some more new goodies!

I finally got to have a play with some more new goodies yesterday! I am loving the new Wood Textures DSP it is so gorgeous and adds something to my cards!

I also used the new Colourful Seasons stamp set and Thinlits and how cute are they?

Again this card was super easy to put together! I stamped the greeting on the sheets of Wood Texture DSP in early espresso. I then cut out the branch from early espresso cardstock, I stamped the flowers with a mix of Marina Mist & Dapper Denim ink and then cut them out using the matching thinlits!

I used the new mini dimensionals to pop up the flowers, now they are so cute! The big ones would have worked fine but the little once are to appealing at the moment!!

I also cut out the chair from the colourful season stamp set with some wood texture DSP and I’m hoping I get a chance to turn it into a card tomorrow afternoon! It looks amazing!!
