Ink and Inspiration Blog hop #2 – Masculine Cards

Ink & Inspiration Blog hop - Masculine Cards

I’m so excited to be participating in my second design team blog hop! This month the theme is Masculine cards, I personally really struggle with masculine cards, I don’t have a lot of stamp sets dedicated to males so I need to try and think outside the box and use “unisex” images and trick them up with male colours!

To be honest the first card I came up with I would be happy to receive it, as would my hubby so maybe it should be classed as a unisex card lol!

Lovely inside and out in bermuda bay, lemon lime twist and basic gray.

I adore these colours together and am actually struggling to come up with other colour combinations at the moment…..a little sad hey?

Anyway I thought I’d challenge myself and try another masculine card…..without using the above colours lol! This is the second card I came up with.

Coffe Break DSP, Masculine cards

Both are pretty easy to put together and I do love me some random stampin to make my own background paper if you haven’t noticed!

What do you think? Which one would you pick to give to a male in your life?

Now don’t forget to keep hopping and checking out all the other gorgeous creations my team mates have designed. I hope we have inspired you to get into your craftroom and make something masculine!

Tranquil Tulips Sympathy card.

Thankfully I don’t have to make to many sympathy cards, it’s not the cards themselves I don’t like it’s the fact I don’t like the reason behind them! It means someone has lost someone they care about and that makes me so very sad!

I always think Sympathy cards need to be softer, more muted in colour! A friend asked me to make 2 sympathy cards for her and this is one of the cards I came up with! You may notice it’s a case of one of the cards I did for launch that you can see here.  I’ve choosen some lighter colours going instead for Powder pink, early espresso and Pear Pizzazz.

Tranquil Tulips - Sympathy Card

The With Sympathy stamp is from the new to me set Flourishing Phrases, it’s actually got a few lovely sentiments in it that would be great for the front and inside of a sympathy card!

As tricky as they sometimes are I I really love how this sympathy card turned out, it’s so pretty in real life and I hope my friend who I made it for likes it to!

Shadow box card technique!

Do you ever find it difficult to find balance? I seem to be an all or nothing type of person. I have been struggling to find a balance between my day job, kids, fitness and Stampin’ Up! I really want to make a success of my Stampin’ Up! and I thank each and everyone of you who visit my blog regularily, come to class and purchase goodies from me! But sometimes especially when I go to crossfit and struggle through a work out I realise I have been neglecting my fitness goals! Am I only the one who struggles with things like that?

Hopefully one day I’ll nail it, but until then I will keep chugging along trying my best!

I wanted to share this card with you that we made at technique class last week! It was super easy yet it looks very fancy!

I used my very favourite hostess set again! I always really like the hostess sets Stampin’ Up! offer but often don’t preorder them but when I saw this set I knew immediately I needed! Not wanted NEEDED it!!! They stamp up so beautifully!

I also used a little piece of the naturally Eclectic DSP, the colours in it are awesome and can be teamed with a heap of colours!

I changed the dimensions a little but essentially this is the tutorial I used when making my card, I love Dawn’s work and often check out her work when I’m struggling to come up with something!

If you give this a go I’d love to see what you come up with!!

Some more new goodies!

I finally got to have a play with some more new goodies yesterday! I am loving the new Wood Textures DSP it is so gorgeous and adds something to my cards!

I also used the new Colourful Seasons stamp set and Thinlits and how cute are they?

Again this card was super easy to put together! I stamped the greeting on the sheets of Wood Texture DSP in early espresso. I then cut out the branch from early espresso cardstock, I stamped the flowers with a mix of Marina Mist & Dapper Denim ink and then cut them out using the matching thinlits!

I used the new mini dimensionals to pop up the flowers, now they are so cute! The big ones would have worked fine but the little once are to appealing at the moment!!

I also cut out the chair from the colourful season stamp set with some wood texture DSP and I’m hoping I get a chance to turn it into a card tomorrow afternoon! It looks amazing!!

I’ve been playing catch up!

After the release of the new catalogue and our launch day I have been trying to catch up on so many things…..sleep being one of them lol! Being end of term and cross country season the kids have been busy with assessment and trainings which is not conducive of sitting down and creating! Which can I say I am desperate to do as I have so many new goodies that haven’t even been mounted yet little lone inked up!

We had technique class last night and a few new sets saw some ink for the first time which was exciting and I can’t wait to share with you but it will have to wait as it is grey and miserable outside at the moment so there is no photography happening! Instead I thought I would share another creation using the Eastern Beauty stamp set, dies and gold stickers! How divine is this? This is card is made using the new Berry Burst ink, cardstock & ribbon.

It was super easy to whip up and could be done in a multitude of colours! I just love that the stickers match so beautifully with the thinlits enabling you to cut them out and it just looks just gorgeous!

Firstly I gold embossed the “to you” on the bottom of the card then I stuck the gold circle on a piece of Whisper White card, punched out a circle of Berry Burst and edged with the matching ink. Next I stuck the flower sticker on to an other piece of whisper white cardstock and ran it through the big shot. I then mounted the flower on to the Berry Burst circle. Once I had tied and cut my ribbon I attached it to my card then mounted the circle of cardstock with the flower over the top of the ribbon!

The whole panel is then attached to a piece of gold foil cardstock, mounted on dimensionals and mounted to a Berry Burst card base! Easy and stunning!! {Well I think so anyway lol}

What do you think?

It’s a full day of stamping kicking off at 10am, you  create 8 cards throughout the day. You get an amazing lunch and afternoon tea and the chance to win lots of prizes!!

So what cards do you make I hear you asking?? When planning these days we share the load, this time around I created 4 cards and Bec created the other 4!

If you can’t tell I love the new Lemon Lime twist, it’s become a fast favourite. It is so bright and vibrant it goes with so many different colours! Just quietly I think Bec likes it to lol!

We have a hall full of ladies all creating at their 8 cards at their own pace with the 3 of us helping when needed. The days are always heaps of fun and plenty of time is spent chatting and catching up with friends that we don’t see often!

The food is just an added perk, check it out! It is amazing, we use a catering service called FoodFX catering and everything they supply is unreal…..except the chocolate cupcakes they are awful and shouldn’t be eaten lol (I’m only kidding they are my favourite and are divine!)

Another Eastern Beauty card!

I may have mentioned before how much I like this set, I love it it’s so versatile and you can use it so many different ways!

I have used my absolutely favourite colour combination this time…..Lemon Lime twist, Bermuda Bay and Whisper white.

These colours make me happy! I apologise you may see them lots in the coming months! I’m so exciting to show the new colours to you, even though they aren’t my usual pastelly colours they coordinate so well and they are just have such lovely happy tones!

This card is super quick to whip up, I ran my piece of whisper white cardstock through the bigshot with 4 of the Eastern Palace thinlits. I then stamped some of the circles from the Eastern Beauty stamp set in Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay around the edges. I mounted the piece of lemon lime twist cardstock to the back, popped it up on dimensionals and mounted it to the card base!

Of course I love a little bling so added some rhinestones!

Are you excited about the new catalogue? It’s not long now until you can see all the beauties in it that I have been eyeing off!

4 more sleeps!!

First Ever Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

I’m Steph a demonstrator from Australia and welcome to the  first ever Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. I have been a demonstrator for 11 years and I am stepping outside my comfort zone and am involved in my first ever design team blog hop! Terrifying! I hope you enjoy hoping around and seeing the work of some super talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world!

Our theme this month is carrying over product. So everything you see in this hop  is products that are carrying over into the new catalogue plus maybe some sneaky peak new items!  You may have noticed some items that once upon a time came in a bundle may be on the retired list, that is because they will not be coming in a bundle at a discount in the new catalogue! There in itself is a reason to take notice and jump on board and order any bundles you simply can’t do without!!

My card today shows the awesome Blooms and Wishes stamp set, that I just adore! I’m so pleased it is carrying over it’s my go to set when I’m stuck for a quick & easy card and today to make it  just  a little more interesting I have used some new incolours. Which I’m not sure if I mentioned I just LOVE!!!

It’s such an easy stamp set to use, I randomly stamped the images in some coordinating colours (using the new Berry Burst as my main colour) layered the whisper white on to some Sahahra Sand and then popping up on dimensionals to adhere to the card base! Of course no card is compete without a little bling!!

I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day.

Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!

SNEAK PEAK – Daisy Delight

What a weekend of crafting I have had! I have been so lucky in that I was able to spend most of my weekend downstairs on my craftroom preparing samples, and cards from the new catalogue! I’m very much in love with the new incolours and can’t wait for you to get to have a play and see what you think!

I’m going to start an incolour club to help you get a little of everything over a period of time…..{cause you really need these ones honest} So stay tuned for more details!

The card I am sharing today is using the Daisy Delight  stamp set and I can see it’s going to be so very versatile! I’ve paired it with the new goodies – Berry Burst card stock and ink and used one of the new clear faceted Gems! The card itself was pretty easy to whip up I’ve done a little background stamping using the Timeless Textures {I’m trying to ween myself off Gorgeous Grunge…Gasp} I’ve then layered 2 daisies on top of each other using some snail to adhere them together! I’ve popped a little silver thread behind them….I’m using this thread a lot lately, added the leaves and then popped the whole flower up on dimensionals.

I finished by stamping Happy Birthday in black and adding some little rhinestones! How simple is that?

These are the sorts of cards we create at my stamp a stacks, which are run monthly on the 3rd Monday evening of the month. If you’d like to come join us and make some gorgeous cards just like this one send me an email or give me a call! If you can’t make my scheduled class but have a group of friends who’d like to make cards to I can always come to you at a time that suits!

Sneak Peak – Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper!!

I have been playing with some of my new goodies and thought I’d share some of my favourites, I cased this card from one Kylie Bertucci did a while ago! Kylie has this awesome hashtag #loveitchopit so I’m going with that this year after pulling out far to many barely used packs of designer series paper! And kicking off my #loveitchop it cards is one using the new Delightful Daisy Designer series paper!

This card was super easy to put together, I used 1 piece of DSP (9cm x 9.4cm) layered on a piece of whisper white card stock. I then picked some colours from the DSP, to complete the card. I also silver embossed my sentiment and added some silver ribbon across the join! How super easy and imagine how many cards you could get out of a pack of designer series paper if you actually use it up!

These are the colours I have used! I wouldn’t have put these colours together normally but they do really work together, well I think so anyway!

If you would like to see more of the new catalogue book in to our new catalogue launch on the 3 June 2017! We’d love to see you!
